On our way to LA for the marathon, Lee decided we needed to stop in Las Vegas for a night of fun! Let me just start by saying it was-a-blast! I still can’t get over the fact they have slot machines as soon as you get off the plane.

Lee got the hook up at the Four Seasons thanks to American Express (woot woot). It was a super super nice suite and the beds were very comfortable (much needed amenity for a prego!). The service was excellent and the turn down service with slippers was yet another plus.

This was the first time I went to Vegas being of age to gamble. So I nervously cashed in the black jack table with Lee and Courtney by my side. I think I picked it up pretty well, breaking even at lunch and then actually doubling my money in the evening. Winner, winner chicken dinner- or at least Cheesecake Factory dinner! The waits were ridiculous and no one carried coke product (Coco needed her Diet Coke).

We finally made it to sleep around 1am, our time reference was all sorts of messed up. We woke up around 9am, got ready and headed to Bayside Buffet. If you know anything at all about me, it’s that breakfast is my absolute favorite meal. I can eat it at any time of the day and you will never catch me skipping it.
Needless to say, I really enjoyed that part and then we headed to the Craps table. I don’t understand why that’s the game with the best odds because I lost almost all my winnings. Luckily I got out when I did. Maybe this is where the addiction kicks in because I just felt the need to find the nearest black jack table to at least break even again… I didn’t want to leave Vegas under. In about 20 minutes, I came back winning a total of $102. Then I was done. I didn’t need to win more, just not lose.

We are now heading to LA to meet up with more friends and have a ton more fun. If you are wondering, Jack is great and mommy is feeling fantastic. I think he was my little good luck charm!
I’ve been getting lots of questions from friends lately about the best place to do yoga or CrossFit because they see how active I am in my community. The thing only is…they live in completely different cities and states! My biggest advice to everyone is to check out your local lululemon athletica. Seriously, they are the experts on the best classes and instructors in their communities.
I recently put it to use via Facebook and I’ll tell you how. Lee and I signed up for the LA Marathon last year before we knew I was pregnant. Instead of running, I am going to support him and breathe in the beautiful ocean air of Santa Monica. I had originally planned on running the 5k with our friend Courtney who is coming with us, but then I ran the Cowtown 5k and decided I’d rather do yoga or Pilates. (I finally realized that I will run again after the baby so I should stop trying to force myself to run now). Since I wasn’t into yoga or Pilates when I lived in Cali, I needed to know where to go. Luckily, I knew there was a lululemon showroom close to our hotel and the manager, Heather, is an absolute doll! I went to their Facebook page to see what studios were posting to her wall and the general feedback of the favorite studios.
From my research, I found 2 studios that we will most definitely check out (Urban Lily Yoga and Lotus Kitty Yoga). You can literally do this with any location that has a lululemon nearby. It’s even better if you go into the showroom or store because they all have a community section where you can pick up flyers and info on all things fitness per their location. Educators at each store are more than willing to give you their personal experience and suggest what you might like based on their conversation with you. Each lululemon also offers a complimentary class once a week for you to try out different studios and fitness rock stars.
Looking forward to visiting California, saying hi to my lululemon peeps in Sherman Oaks and cheering on Lee and Jayme (University Park Village lululemon ambassadors) as they run the LA Marathon!
