This weekend was great for many reasons. First of all, Lee took Friday off so that he could have a full day with Jack and I. We went to North Park Mall in Dallas for a little shopping. It’s been so long since I have been “my size.” Little did we know it was the first day of Tax Free Weekend, but that didn’t stop us from having a great time. For lunch we went to Kona Grill where we use to frequent while living in Dallas. It was a very fun time.
Saturday, we had an enduraLAB workout of 5k repeats on the Trinity Trails. It was the perfect weekend run to bust out the BOB stroller. I ended up not using it because it my lovely mother showed up to watch Jack (isn’t she sweet?). I was nervous to run a 5k seeing how I haven’t ran in one for months. I knew it was going to be a great run during the warm up. During the first mile and a half, I felt amazing. The second half was a little bit tougher but not terrible. I finished in 29:30 and was pretty content. I wasn’t going for time but it always feels good to do better than what you anticipated time wise. After the run we went to breakfast with the family and then it was off to CrossFit Ironhorse for a running clinic. This wasn’t just any running clinic, I learned a flow running style taught by Patton Gleason of Natural Running Store. If you have the opportunity, I suggest you attend this clinic because it made me take a good at my form and realize what needs work.
Saturday night, I got to be a part of a flash mob thanks to Tabitha of Shoe Gypsy! She has spent the last month or so dedicated to making this happen for Fort Worth and it was an absolute success.
Sunday morning, all three of us slept through our alarm for our 7am run. Lee ran out of the door literally putting socks on and slipping on his running shoes. I stayed behind because I figured Jack has been through a lot this weekend and deserves a nice morning to chill in his crib. When Lee got back from his run, I started breakfast. About a week ago, I saw what looked to be a very yummy recipe for paleo sausage gravy and biscuits. We gave them a try and they were delish, not to mention a hit with the hubby!
How was your weekend?
