Chicago Marathon

Fancy title eh? Seriously though- we want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for purchasing the #CM10 twitter t! We raised $123 from CafePress and we are matching that plus a few dollars to donate $250 to local Chicago charity, Common Threads. For those of you reading this for the first time, Common Threads is a non-profit organization that teaches low income children how to cook healthy and affordable meals. You can read about how this idea came along on our initial #CM10 Twitter T post.

Come Together… Right Now… in Chi Town

by Team Hargrave on September 22, 2010

We have 18 days until the Chicago Marathon folks!! So here’s the skinny on meeting up. The amazing tweeties, @chanthana and @jenn_if_er, are joining forces with us for pre and post #CM10 tweetups. Now just because it’s called a tweetup doesn’t mean you have to be on twitter or really know what twitter is. You also don’t have to be running the Chicago Marathon to participate. It’s for runners, family, volunteers and supporters! Please RSVP to the events by clicking the links below! We are so excited to meet all of you!

Pre #CM10 Tweetup (Chicago Marathon)

We’ve been training for months to run 26.2 miles in the streets of Chi-town. We know you are excited to run this race, whether it’s your first or your 10th Chicago Marathon!

After the Expo, please join us for a casual happy hour at Weather Mark Tavern, which happens to be near miles 25 and 26 of the marathon course.

Many of you are going to the Expo on Saturday, so please stop by the Athletes @HoneyMilk to say hello to @runningcouple (Lee & Isis) and the @ChooseCherries booth to see @chanthana.

Post #CM10 Tweetup (Chicago Marathon)

Wear that finisher’s medal proudly and hobble on in to Jake Melnick’s for all the liquid and greasy caloric intake you can handle! We’re looking forward to hearing about YOUR race.

Jake’s is conveniently located off of Michigan Avenue and is known for their delicious chicken wings and Bloody Mary’s. Let’s get together for a celebratory toast and lots of photo ops. And please come back to Chicago soon!

When I first started dating Lee in 2006, he was training for the Chicago Marathon. I thought he was completely nuts and mighty good-looking. I never in million years would have thought that I’d be running next to him for 26.2. When I went to support Lee run his first marathon, I realized the magic [...]
